Spanish 1 is an introductory course with no prerequisite. The course provides essential vocabulary and grammar structures needed for real-life communication. Students access various interactive materials to practice their skills. The instructor uses a variety of techniques to help students develop competency in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the beginning level. The course integrates cultural lessons throughout.
The typical minimum college language requirement is two consecutive years of a single foreign language. Many selective colleges require three to four years of a foreign language.
